Lever harpLever harp is often the preferred instrument for folk music lovers, for people starting harp lessons, for smaller players, and for those who appreciate portability and affordability. The instrument is ideally suited to performance of Celtic and other folk music. The lever harp can also be used for performance of light classical and contemporary repertoire.

Pedal harp
Pedal harp is a larger instrument that allows players to collaborate most easily with other instruments of the symphony orchestra, and to cover the full range of classical repertoire. Its pedal mechanism also allows players to tackle jazz and more chromatic popular music. Pedal harp studies are typically required for entrance into university harp programs.

Music TheoryAn understanding of music theory is an integral part of being a strong musician. Students who understand music theory can read and learn music more quickly and easily. Theory study allows students to complete examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and to grasp the greater significance of the music they are playing. It also opens doors for those who have an interest in composition or arranging.
